LABC West Midlands building award winners announced

Three UK building professionals and companies have been awarded honours by the LABC as part of one of the most prestigious awards ceremonies for the industry.

Telford-based builder M&S Taylor has been announced as the winner of the LABC West Midlands Building Excellence Awards for their three-bedroom home built in Newport. The scheme was praised for the quality of the work and the way the builders worked with the buildings regulations officers and were always on hand to answer questions.

Additionally, Dave Fletcher of Morris Property in Shropshire has been named as the construction professional of the year for a non-residential project for a factory scheme in Telford. Judges felt that Fletcher stood out as he managed to balance the needs of the client with complying with the building control requirements while showing excellent building practice overall.

The third company of note was Keepmoat Homes for their development of 79 homes which was highly commended in the best new large housing development category.

The schemes were all nominated by apT who worked with the winners during the planning and building of their developments. apT specialises in offering professional help and guidance for planning, highway design and building regulations.

Siobhan Martin, Commercial and Business Support Manager at apT has said that they were delighted with the success of the schemes. She says that LABC award the very best working practises and partnerships so this level of success is something to be proud of.
